DeFisher Fruit Farm Farmworkers and Laborers in Williamson, New York

14 Fulltime, Seasonal H-2A Jobs available 02/10/2023 - 11/10/2023.

This is a joint job order with Rosario Brothers, LLC 3743 Eagle Harbor Road, Albion NY 14411

Duties: Harvest apples, pears, peaches, Packing & Sorting Apples, grafting, budding, tree pruning, bin repair, tractor operating, grounds maintenance and hand thinning. Repair & maintain farm vehicles, implements & mechanical equipment. Use & operate fruit juice pressing equipment and sorting apples. Harvest fruits by hand, General Farm work. After 4 days of training employer will expect worker to pick a minimum of 5 bins (100 bushels boxes) of fresh market apples per day with no more than 0% (WNY) bruising and/or 7 Bins (140 bushels boxes) of processing apples per day. Workers are expected to work at least the number of days and hours specified. Depending on weather, crop or other conditions, workers may be requested, but not required to work up to seven days per week and/or on the Sabbath and up to 12 hours per day. Employer will furnish to workers without cost all the tools and equipment required in the performance of the duties assigned. Workers should report for work with their own suitable clothes. Field temperatures may range from below 0 to 90+ degrees (F), with possible wet morning conditions. Workers must be physically able to lift up to 75 lbs on a consistent basis throughout the day. Cell phone usage is limited to emergency use only while working in the field. Due to health & safety concerns on our farm workers must understand basic instruction in English. Workers referred as a result of this order must have a minimum of three months of verifiable experience in performing the tasks described in his order. Driving farm vehicles such as, tractors, vans, cars, and trucks as needed.

All workers are to be treated with respect and dignity; they are a critical part of this farm. The workers are also expected to treat the farm's facilities as if they are their own. The farm's housing should be kept clean. When the workers leave, the facilities should be returned to the condition in which they were upon arrival. Alcohol and drug abuse will not be tolerated. Workers must adhere to the food safety standards outlined in the Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) manual. During the harvest season, workers will be given a mandatory day of rest, and on the remaining days of the week, the will be expected to work weather permitting.

Those that are requested will be required to possess appropriate drivers license. No one will be rejected for a position that does not have a license. The activities outlined in the job description will be conducted solely on the worksite which is owned and operated by the employer.

  • Repetitive movements, extensive pushing and pulling, extensive walking, frequent stooping/bending.
  • Workers must be physically able to lift up to 75 lbs on a consistent basis throughout the day.
