Job Title: Adventure Park Operations Manager

Reports To: Director of Mountain Operations and Risk Management

Overview of Position: The Adventure Park Operations Manager is a Fulltime Seasonal position and is responsible for staffing, operating, and maintaining all Adventure Park operations. The Manager will work closely with the snowmaking and grooming staff to become proficient in those areas. Windham Mountain Resort Adventure Park operations are physically separate from ski and snowboard operations. The Adventure Park Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the park and its attractions. The park is both mountain operations and customer service oriented, and support from Windham Mountain Resort will be provided as needed.

Job Qualifications:

  • Must be a minimum age of 18.

  • Must have a full understanding of Windham Mountain Resort operations in addition to those of the Adventure Park.

  • Must have strong supervisory, organizational and management skills.

  • Must be able to handle stressful, noisy, crowded and distracting situations.

  • Must be comfortable interacting with both guests and employees in a friendly and helpful manner.

  • Must have strong communication skills, written and verbal.

  • Must be able to make quality decisions, motivate and direct others.

  • Must have strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

  • Must maintain a clean and professional appearance.

  • Must be able to sustain adverse weather conditions for extended periods of time.

Job Responsibilities / Duties: The duties listed below represent many of the tasks you will be asked to perform at some time during your employment at Windham Mountain Resort. Because we cannot predict the variety of challenges we must face in providing the product our guests expect, this list of duties is not intended to represent all the tasks. Windham Mountain Resort will never require you to perform a task that is inherently unsafe or that you are not adequately trained to perform.

  • Overall coordination, administration and execution of day to day functions of Adventure Park operations.

  • Perform supervisory functions including the recruiting, hiring, training, reviewing, and terminating of staff as needed in coordination with the Human Resources Department.

  • Manage staff scheduling and payroll, as well as any other personnel issues that may arise.

  • Manage and coach Adventure Park supervisors and staff.

  • Create and maintain a work schedule and hours that correlate with expected guest volume.

  • Ensure all Adventure Park SOP's and safety guidelines are followed.

  • Develop and implement a winter season operations budget.

  • Responsible for all assets of the Adventure Park operation and its various features including the ice skating rink, snow mobiles, conveyor lift, snack bar, and ticketing.

  • Ensure all necessary supplies are available and properly utilized.

  • Plan for and coordinate with other Windham Mountain Resort departments for assistance due to volume or special events.

  • Enforce the Windham Mountain Resort dress code.

  • Routinely tour the facility and observe interaction between staff and guests to gain first-hand knowledge of problems, concerns and to develop ideas for improving the operation.

Work Schedule and Conditions: We are in the business of providing a quality product and experience for our guests. Traditionally our busy periods are during weekends and holiday periods which you will be expected to work. You can also expect to be asked to work extra hours or days on occasion, especially during the holiday periods. We will attempt to offer consecutive days off and accommodate special scheduling requests, but we cannot guarantee that we will be able to satisfy all requests. We expect employees to arrive.
