Overview of Position: Cafeteria Staff is primarily responsible for preparing and serving menu items. This includes line cooks in the kitchen, fryer operators, prep attendants, servers and bussers . All are responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and may be asked to perform a variety of cleaning duties. This is a position with high guest contact.
Job Duties: The list below best represents many tasks you will be asked to perform at some time during your employment here at Windham Mountain Resort. We cannot predict all the challenges that we may face in providing the product our guests expect. We will never ask you to perform a task that is inherently unsafe or that you are not adequately trained to perform.
Develop a working knowledge of regulatory requirements for food handling, sanitation and safety.
Operate the Grill, Fryer, Steam Table, and assist in Baking, Wrapping and food assembly.
Set up with the proper amount of products to ensure a smooth working line.
Prepare fresh fruit, vegetables, sandwiches, salads, roast meats, soups, and desserts when necessary.
Clean fryers, ovens and ranges when needed. Sweep, mop and vacuum.
Properly store all food products in coolers.
Receive deliveries, store and rotate all stock areas.
You may be asked to assist chef, barbecue, banquets/cocktail parties during busy times.
Assist in performing periodic inventory.
Clean, bus tables and chairs, trash, floor, counters, lockers/cubbies, windows and sills.
Be pleasant and accommodate guests in every way possible.
Must be clean, neat and very organized.
Must be familiar with kitchen tools, utensils, and equipment.
Must be able to follow directions thoroughly and accurately.
Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and to remain standing for an entire work shift.
Must be able to handle a stressful, noisy and crowded work environment.
Must be comfortable interacting with both staff and guests in a friendly and helpful manner.
Work Schedule and Conditions: We are in the business of providing a quality product and experience for our guests. Traditionally our busy periods are during weekends and holiday periods which you will be expected to work. You can also expect to be asked to work extra hours or days on occasion, especially during the holiday periods.
We will attempt to offer consecutive days off and accommodate special scheduling requests, but we cannot guarantee that we will be able to satisfy all requests. We expect employees to arrive promptly.
Name Tag must always be worn - no exceptions.
Must be neat and clean - nails clean: overall approachable appearance.
Medium to Dark Wash Jeans with no tears/holes worn at or above the hipbones.
Blue WM Shirt (issued) must be your showing layer; may wear a white shirt underneath.
Those receiving Black Vests (issued) must wear them zipped. Blue WM Shirt cannot hang out beneath vest.
Hats are included in the uniform for food and beverage staff
