Overview of Position:
The Windham management team leads an exciting and dynamic business which has multiple segments and seasonal demands. All key employees are both leaders and doers with a unified focus on delivering a high-quality guest experience. The team's success hinges on their ability to plan, analyze and effectively execute the various activities on and off the mountain. The Director of Finance plays a vital role in this management process and the role requires a passionate, hands-on leader with high integrity and a commitment to advancing the organization.
The Director of Accounting & Finance reports directly to the President/General Manager on all strategic and tactical matters as they relate to financial planning and forecasting (budget and cashflow management, cost benefit analysis, etc.) and financial analysis to enable the company to align its resources with the achievement of strategic goals - both long term and short term. As a member of senior management, this position participates in setting broad organizational goals, objectives, processes and policies, particularly in the area of financial management. This individual will directly supervise the Accounting & Finance Department and oversee all accounting and finance activities such as financial reporting, business analysis, budgeting, forecasting and long-term strategic planning, and auditing. This individual has responsibilities spanning a breadth of staff functions and requires someone who is both strategic and tactical.

Manage and supervise all accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting. Assess and report on business performance through financial analysis and make recommendations regarding how to improve utilizing industry benchmarks for departmental performance analysis.
Serve as both a financial and business advisor to the President/GM and other members of the leadership team. Partner with leadership team to develop and create accountability for the operating and capital budgets, financial forecasts, real-time financial reporting, analytics and business insight to support the successful operation of the business.
Prepare and interpret financial statements and reports for leadership team, Board of Directors and lenders, and ensure timely reporting of all information; support preparation of Board of Directors presentation materials.
Identify areas of improvement and opportunities in operations and proactively communicate recommendations and concerns with leadership.
Oversee financial policies and procedures for the accurate and consistent recording and reporting of financial matters including budgeting, external and internal financial reporting, capital funds tracking, project cost accounting, project and operational performance analytics, periodic reports, controls, and internal cost studies. Oversee the company's annual audit and tax reporting processes.
Ensure adequate cash flow to meet the organization's needs including management of Company's line of credit.
Train and mentor the Finance and Accounting team and relevant staff, especially on awareness and knowledge of financial management matters.
Manage relationships with third parties such as Lenders, Insurance Brokers, Bank Contacts and Independent Public Accounting Firms.
Ensure adequate controls are installed and that substantiating documentation is approved and available such that all purchases may pass independent and governmental audits.
