Overview of Position: Tavern 23 offers a menu of elevated tavern fare ad a variety of craft beers, seasonal cocktails and carefully selected wines. We offer an "Above & Beyond Experience" for our guests. A Line Cook is primarily responsible for preparing assigned food items. They must follow the recipes (http://www.ehow.com/recipes/) and the portion control (http://www.ehow.com/facts_5607364_line-cook-job-descriptions.html) guidelines set by the Executive Chef. They are also responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment and may be asked to perform a variety of kitchen duties.
Job Duties: The list below best represents many tasks you will be asked to perform at some time during your employment here at Windham Mountain. We cannot predict all the challenges that we may face in providing the product our guests expect. We will never ask you to perform a task that is inherently unsafe or that you are not adequately trained to perform.
Develop a working knowledge of regulatory requirements for food handling, sanitation and safety.
Operate the Grill, Fryer, Steam Table, and assist in Baking, wrapping and food assembly.
Set up with the proper amount of product to ensure a smooth working line.
Prepare fresh fruit, vegetables, sandwiches, salads, roast meats, soups, and desserts when necessary.
Clean fryers, ovens and ranges when needed.
Properly store all food products in coolers.
Receive deliveries, store and rotate all stock areas.
You may be asked to assist chef, barbecue, banquets/cocktail parties or the Winwood Hotel during busy times.
Perform periodic inventory tasks.
Must be clean, neat and very organized.
Must be familiar with kitchen tools, utensils, and equipment.
Must be able to follow directions thoroughly and accurately.
Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and to remain standing for an entire work shift.
Must have hands-on experience in food preparation and service.
Must be able to handle a stressful, noisy and crowded work environment.
Must be comfortable interacting with both staff and guests in a friendly and helpful manner.
