Farmworker and Laborer: 4 fulltime H-2A seasonal jobs available 3/23/2020-11/20/2020.
General orchard work requires trimming and pruning, cutting away dead or excess branches from apple trees to maintain the health and value of the tree, using hand saws and pruners, power pruners, step ladders, trimming clippers and pruning hooks. Workers ability to keep hands and arms steady while moving and trimming, ability to bend, stretch, twist or reach with your body, arms and/or legs. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Prepare fields and plant new trees. Harvest apples from tree and deposit them in a bushel picking bucket to a bin. Manually harvest fruit using hand tools such as picking buckets, step ladders and boxes (bins). Apples injured by bruising during picking shall not exceed 1% (WNY) for fresh and 1% (WNY) for processing. Productivity must be at least 7 bins per day of fresh (20 bushel bin) or 8 bins per day of processing (20 bushel bin). Repair of apple bins, replace broken and damaged boards with new boards using a hammer and nails.
* Must have a minimum of three months experience performing the duties described.
* Lifting requirement of 50 lbs.
* Repetitive movements, extensive pushing/pulling, and extensive walking.
* Exposure to extreme temperatures.
