We are looking for a detail-oriented Route Settlement Clerk to work with our drivers in the reconciliation of accounts receivable, as well as other administrative functions. The role spans multiple areas including route settlement and credit. The ideal candidate is someone who has excellent interpersonal and communication skills. They must possess strong computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. They should be also be comfortable interfacing with multiple departments to resolve issues and assure that customer transactions are accurately completed.

Main Focus:

  • Work with drivers to accurately reconcile routes.

  • Assess discrepancies from route and cash collections.

  • Create physical and electronic bank deposits.

  • Identify checks received and determine application to account.

  • Input of all daily cash receipts.

  • Reconciliation of accounts and prepare adjustments to open items.

  • Prepare various spreadsheets.

Position Requirements:

  • A minimum of 1-year relevant experience. Credit or settlement experience is a plus.

  • College degree a plus, but not required.

  • Ability to communicate in Spanish is helpful, but not required.

  • Ability to provide coverage between our Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Suffern facilities as required.

  • Valid Driver’s License required.

  • Ability to work Monday - Friday. Flexibility to work 8-hour alternating shifts (12:00 pm start time/10:00am for Training). Some weekends (Saturday) during the holiday season.

  • Customer service experience.

  • Strong sense of time management and organizational skills.

  • Attention to detail and follow through.

  • Written and verbal communication skills.

  • Baseline ability to utilize Microsoft Office (mainly Excel).

Hourly compensation: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour.

It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
